California proceeding with HFC regulations
There is ongoing pressure to remove HFCs from the supply chain. For example, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) plans to adopt the same EPA SNAP list of unacceptable HFCs that was just vacated by the U.S. Court of Appeals. CARB will hold a public hearing on the first phase of its plan – to consider adopting proposed regulations to prohibit use of certain hydrofluorocarbons in stationary refrigeration and foam end-uses – on Thursday, March 22, at 9 a.m. at the Riverside County Administration Center in Riverside, Calif. NAFEM members are encouraged to attend. The meeting will also be webcast. For more information on CARB’s plan to proceed with HFC bans, read the latest Issue Brief.
