NAFEM joins the USMCA Coalition
In late February, more than 200 companies and associations representing farmers, ranchers, manufacturers, service providers and technology companies joined forces to launch the USMCA Coalition to advocate for congressional approval of the United States – Mexico – Canada Agreement. According to Coalition organizers, “The USMCA preserves and strengthens the benefits of North American trade for America workers, farmers, businesses and consumers.”
There are 39 U.S. states that count Canada or Mexico as their top trading partner and the two countries bought more than one-third of all U.S. merchandise exports.
Over the coming weeks and months, the USMCA Coalition will make the case for expeditious passage of the agreement to Congress. It also will work to educate the American public about the benefits of the new agreement. The effort harnesses the advocacy strength of a broad membership of companies, trade associations and chamber of commerce organization nationwide.
