U.S. to exit Paris Climate Agreement
President Trump has formally notified the United Nations that the U.S. will begin the yearlong process of withdrawing from the Paris Agreement on climate change. The 2016 Paris Agreement is a global response to reduce the threat of climate change by keeping the 21st century global temperature rise to below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. Every country in the world has signed the Agreement. According to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, “the accord would impose intolerable burdens on the American economy.”
