New Prop 65 warning requirements take effect Aug. 30
California Proposition 65, also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, requires companies to inform Californians when products might expose them to one or more of 900 listed substances. Effective Aug. 30, companies are required to include updated warning labels on products that contain or expose people to these substances to help Californians make informed decisions about the products they use and the places they go.
