Delaware introduces proposed HFC prohibitions
Delaware’s Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has published proposed new HFCs regulation 1151, Prohibitions on Use of Certain Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in Specific End-Uses. Proposed HFC prohibitions include usage in air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, aerosol propellants and foam end-uses. Public comments are due by May 8.
Delaware joins other states that have regulated or are considering regulating HFCs to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This includes California, Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Vermont and Washington. A list of known HFC phase-down activities by state is available here.
