U.S agencies postpone payments, temper regulations

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has waived penalty payments from consent decrees until the end of May, according to a model letter issued April 14. This comes on the heels of the EPA’s guidance to exercise “enforcement discretion” if facilities cannot meet certain agency regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
