CARB discusses proposed refrigerant limits
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) held a webinar July 22 to discuss its proposal to limit the use of high-global-warming-potential (GWP) refrigerants in new stationary refrigeration equipment. The proposed rule calls for a GWP limit of 150 on new stationary refrigeration equipment containing more than 50 pounds of refrigerant in new facilities starting Jan. 1, 2022. CARB plans to incorporate the rule into its existing HFC regulation.
