Washington State HFC regulations expected this fall

Following the completion of its public comment period July 28, the Washington State Department of Ecology is finalizing Chapter 173-443 WAC, Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). The final rule is expected to be adopted this fall and should be effective just 31 days later. Until the new rule is final, Washington has required manufacturers, importers and distributors to notify Ecology about their products and equipment that contain HFCs since Dec. 31, 2019.
