NAFEM launches fourth year of #NAFEMFightingHunger initiative

The North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM) has announced #NAFEMFightingHunger is back for its fourth year, with a goal of raising funds to support 5 million meals for those in need.

As foodservice industry leaders, NAFEM and its member companies care about helping their local communities, especially people facing hunger. When members donate funds, food or volunteer time to their local Feeding America member food banks, NAFEM matches every dollar, up to its $250,000 program maximum.

“We’re proud of NAFEM members and their associates who have led the largest philanthropic effort in NAFEM history,” said Rich Packer, CFSP, NAFEM president and president of American Metalcraft. “While our match is just for members, we thank everyone in the industry helping to feed our neighbors in need through Feeding America and other hunger-relief programs.”

More than 34 million people – including 9 million children, are food insecure, meaning they may not know where their next meal is coming from.1  Feeding America’s network of food banks, pantries and meal programs serve nearly all U.S. communities. Every NAFEM member donation remains in their local community, as does the NAFEM match.

“Feeding America and network food banks across the U.S. depend on partnerships with organizations like NAFEM and its members to provide hope and help meet the needs of children and families in every county,” said Elizabeth Pettengill, Feeding America senior director, new partnerships. “In 2022, these donations helped food banks stretch to serve families hit hard by inflation and high food and energy prices.”

NAFEM is a trade association of more than 500 foodservice equipment and supplies manufacturers providing products for food preparation, cooking, storage and table service. For more information, visit www.nafem.org
