Increasing customer demand fueling employee burnout
Customer expectations continue to evolve post-pandemic. A recent Gallup survey of nearly 20,000 U.S. employees found that 43% of customers are more demanding and expecting higher levels of service and 28% have greater expectations for virtual or remote service. Gallup expects that these customer behavioral shifts will continue to increase. At the same time, only 23% of survey respondents strongly agree that their organizations always deliver on promises to customers. Also, 57% of employees who say they have noticed a change in customer expectations are more likely to “very often” or “always” feel burned out at work.
