EPA warns of false violation letters/emails 

Watch for false Notification of Violations that appear to be from the EPA. Companies nationwide report receiving letters or emails requiring payment for false environmental violations. According to the agency, all emails from EPA use a .gov extension. These do not. Questions? Contact EPA’s Enforcement Office.  

AIM Act continues to guide HFC phasedowns 

Multiple NAFEM members have recently reported challenges finding refrigerants acceptable under the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act. The 2020 Act gave the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) authority to address hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) by phasing down production and consumption, maximizing reclamation and minimizing releases from equipment, and implementing sector-based restrictions that drive the transition to next-generation technologies. EPA’s January Final Rule details the phasedown schedule of HFCs listed in the Act.
