Amplifying Members’ Voices

NAFEM regularly joins forces with other organizations to advance the industry’s perspective with elected and appointed officials. Highlights of recent outreach include:

  • NAFEM joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and 490 other state and local chambers of commerce and national trade associations in calling on Congress to adopt a current-policy baseline in its budget resolution to extend the expiring provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), and create a pathway toward passing permanent tax relief to American families and employers.
  • NAFEM joined more than 100 national and state trade associations voicing opposition to a proposed amendment to Federal Rule of Appellate Procedure 29 that would require disclosure of information about an association’s members in amicus briefs filed by nonparties to a case looking to provide additional information.
  • Associations representing everything from Automotive Innovation to Window and Door Manufacturers, and including NAFEM, voiced opposition to New Mexico HB 212 that would restrict (unless specifically exempt) the sale or distribution of any personal, residential, commercial or industrial product (or equipment to manufacturer a product) that contains PFAS compounds unless the use of PFAS in that product is currently an unavoidable use.
