Small business confidence of concern
According to the Q1 U.S. Chamber of Commerce Small Business Index, Inflation pressures, a weaker economic outlook, and declining hiring and investment plans signal growing caution among small businesses nationwide.
- 53% of respondents cite inflation is their top concern.
- Other leading concerns include supply chain challenges, revenue, interest rates, access to credit and affording employee benefits/health care.
- 28% say the U.S. economy is in “good” health.
- 37% expect to increase investment and 30% expect to add staff over the next year.
