Revised Washington appliance standards effective April 9
Washington state amended its appliance standards for hot food holding cabinets and commercial ovens. Effective April 9, hot food holding cabinets installed in the state must meet the idle energy rate determined by ANSI/ASTM F2140-11 and be registered with California’s Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS). Commercial ovens must meet ENERGY STAR® version 2.2 specifications and carry the ENERGY STAR label.
Rhode Island considers registration of stationary refrigeration systems
Rhode Island Senate Bill 858 would require owners of stationary refrigeration systems to register their system with the Department of Environmental Management within six months of the bill taking effect. Owners would be required to notify the state before change of ownership and leak inspections would be required every six months.
