DOE issues proposed energy-conservation standards for dishwashers

DOE issued a pre-publication NOPR  addressing energy-conservation standards for dishwashers. DOE issues proposed ACIM energy-conservation standards

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued a notice of proposed rulemaking (NOPR) addressing energy-conservation standards for automatic commercial ice makers (ACIM). DOE will accept comments up to 60 days after the NOPR is published in the Federal Register and, pending member input, NAFEM will submit comments. Contact Charlie Souhrada to discuss. DOE issues final rule energy-conservation standards for microwaves

DOE issued a pre-publication Federal Register final rule pertaining to energy-conservation standards for microwave ovens. In this final rule, DOE is adopting amended standards for microwave ovens that it determined result in significant energy savings and are technologically feasible and economically justified.


DOE issues final rule WIC/F test procedures

DOE issued a final rule outlining test procedures for commercial walk-in coolers and freezers (WIC/F). The effective date is June 5 with product testing amendments mandatory starting Oct. 31.


Colorado proposed updates to energy standards advance to Senate

The Colorado statehouse passed HB23-1161 that updates energy standards for commercial dishwashers, fryers, hot food holding cabinets, steam cookers and ovens. The bill was referred to the Senate, where it is expected to pass and move to the governor for signature. If approved, these products will be required to meet ENERGY STAR requirements to be sold or leased for use in the state.
