OSHA extends comment period for heat-related hazard preventions

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) extended the deadline for comments on its draft Heat Injury and Illness Prevention in Outdoor and Indoor Work Settings to Jan. 14, 2025. The proposed rule includes mandatory work breaks, access to cold water and designated cool down stations when the indoor or outdoor heat index reaches 80° F.

NAFEM joins NAM, others in successfully advocating against unreasonable right-to-repair provisions

Thanks to NAFEM and more than 60 other associations joining the National Association of Manufacturers’ (NAM) outreach to House and Senate Armed Services Committees, Department of Defense (DOD) contractors are not required to provide access to all repair materials and information, with no carve-outs or limitations to protect sensitive trade secret information. NAFEM will continue to prioritize the inclusion of these protections for manufacturers in future Defense Authorization Acts that fund these and other activities.
