Amplifying Members’ Voices

NAFEM regularly works with other organizations to advance the industry’s perspective with elected and appointed officials. Recently, NAFEM:

  • Urged House and Senate leaders to make permanent the Department of Treasury’s repeal of beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting requirements and to destroy BOI information already submitted by millions of small businesses no longer required to file. The House Rules Committee did not adopt the proposal, but NAFEM will continue advocating for this change.
  • Joined other trade associations in encouraging the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation to include funding for critical safety priorities in the upcoming surface transportation reauthorization bill. The coalition urged lawmakers to preserve the flexibility manufacturers need to develop and deploy next-generation safety technologies.
