Extension of Section 301 Chinese import exclusions under consideration

The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) is seeking comments on a possible extension of Section 301 product exclusions for up to 12 months for items imported from China on List 3 and List 4. Comments are due by July 7 at the USTR web portal. This action follows the USTR’s earlier request for comments about extending exclusions previously granted for

List 1 and List 2. According to the USTR, the focus of the exclusion evaluation is on whether the particular product remains available only in China, as well as whether duties on the products result in severe economic hardship or impact other U.S. interests.
