China appears to be falling short of Phase 1 trade deal commitments
According to the Peterson Institute for International Economics, Chinese agricultural purchases for 2020 have thus far fallen short of the $36.6 billion commitment called for in Phase 1 of the U.S. – China trade deal. Through April, China’s agriculture purchases have totaled $6.3, or 17 percent, of the yearlong commitment. NAFEM continues monitoring the Trump administration’s response to this situation.
